Bellisio Foods is collaborating with Chili’s® Grill & Bar to bring a line of frozen single-serve entrées and multi-serve meals under the Chili’s® licensed brand to the frozen food category. Bellisio Foods’ Research & Development and Chili’s® Culinary Team teamed up to develop the bold, southwestern flavor profiles for the new frozen food line.
The frozen food category has been frozen in time. This lack of innovation has made consumers grow weary of the same flavor combinations, nutritional components and even packaging. Bellisio Foods, through its collaboration with Chili’s, saw an excellent opportunity to deliver “bold” in a big way. From bold flavors to bold packaging, Chili’s frozen entrees are sure to be eye-catching as well as palate-pleasing. Chili’s frozen entrees will help define the future of frozen meals and infuse a sleepy category with new energy, innovation and excitement.
The new products are made with ingredients that speak to the spirit and bold tastes of the Southwest, representing the high-quality and intense flavors consumers expect from Chili’s. Ingredients include grilled chicken and large pieces of white chicken, fire-roasted vegetables, black beans, corn, sweet potatoes, red and green roasted peppers, poblano peppers, jalapenos, mangoes, and cheddar and pepper jack cheeses.
Products will be launched at major retailers nationwide in June 2014, including Walmart, Kroger, Safeway, Food Lion, H-E-B, Meijer, Giant Eagle and Schnucks. Chili’s frozen single-serve and multi-serve meals are poised to reignite the frozen food category. This collaboration between Bellisio Foods and Chili’s gives busy consumers the opportunity to enjoy the bold, high-quality taste of nearly a dozen Chili’s-inspired meals right in their own homes.
